My name is Sarah and I cheer for HotCheer AllStars in Elizabeth, PA. I cheer on the Senior 3 Large Team which is an all girl team.  Two years ago, we had won Jamfest Nationals in Indy.  Our goal for the next year was to try to go for the win 2 years in a row. When the next year came, we prepared the whole year with hard practices, and determination to win the competition. When we arrived to the competition, we had practice time. At that practice one of our girls landed on her ankles and could not walk. We stayed up very very late that night to get an alternate and then to practive to make sure our routine worked with our new alternate.

Then, the first day of the competition came. It was our time to go on. We were SO nervous, but very determined. We did our little hands in, had the talk with the coaches, and went out on the floor.  Our routine wasn’t the best it could have been, but it was okay.  Went the results were announced, we were currently in 2nd place. That was not going to get in our way of winning.

The next day our coach said that she could see the fire in our eyes. We were ready to win. When it was our time to go on, we prayed, had a speech from our coaches, gave everyone hugs, and then we went on. We were very nervous, but we knew we could do it.

The stunts, the jumps, the tumbling, everything hit perfect! It was flawless. We were so happy, but very nervous that we wouldn’t take first place. We had a talk with our coaches, and they said no matter what happened they so proud of us!

We always say, “One Heart”. We say this because we come together to make one heart, and we do everything as one. We are a family, and nothing can change that.

At awards that day and our coaches sat in the far corner that’s how scared they were!  We all held hands, some of us prayed we were excited and VERY nervous. They went through all the teams in Large Senior 3, except for first and second place. When second place was announced, it wasn’t us. We were screaming at the top of our lungs!!! We were sooooooo excited! We cried, and hugged each other.

Our coaches ran 100 miles an hour out of that corner to come and see us. Seeing our coaches crying with happiness was so nice. We got a jacket, and a banner, as well as our trophy. Then, they announced the sportsmanship award, and we won that too! Along with Level Champions, we won the sportsmanship award! It was the greatest feeling. We couldn’t of done it without our ONE HEART <3
