DIY Cranberry & Savory Blemish Inhibitor
Have you tried all the acne products on the market and feel like these products leave your skin dry and irritated? Some of the products on the market are pretty harsh. I love natural products that you can make at home in your own kitchen. The best part about making your own products is that you know exactly what is in them and you avoid the harshness of chemicals like Benzyl Peroxide.
The best way to get rid of acne is to prevent acne from occurring. This Cranberry and Savory Acne Inhibitor is worth a try. The acidity in the cranberries works as a mild astringent and toner. Savory, which the Greeks originally considered an aphrodisiac, helps cleans the skin of excess oils.
1 Tablespoon Dried Savory Leaves, Crushed
½ Cup Boiling Water
½ Cup Fresh Cranberries
Place the savory in a clean dry bowl and cover with the boiling water. Allow it to soak for 15 minutes. The strain it and set aside the liquid. Place the cranberries in a blender or food processor and puree. Strain the pulp out of the liquid, discard the pulp and combine the cranberry liquid with the water from the savory.
How to Use
Soak a cotton pads or a wash cloth with the warm liquid and leave on the face 15 minutes. Avoid your eyes. Remove pads or cloth from face and rinse with warm water.
You can find savory in the spice section of your grocery store. It is the same spice we put in our Thanksgiving stuffing…yum! Fresh cranberries or frozen cranberries can be used.
Discard any unused liquid as it can spoil or you can save it in the refrigerator for a few days.
