Is Glitter & Rhinestone Eye Makeup Gone Forever?
Has glitter and rhinestone eye makeup become a thing of the past?
With the USASF new Image & Appearance Policy, we all need to rethink our dance moves, uniform, makeup and bows. The scary part about all this is that the judges can give deductions or warnings if they think the teams choreography, uniform, makeup or bows do not meet the standards of the Image and Appearance Policy.
These policies will be rolled out over four years:
2012-13: Choreography and Cover Ups
2013-14: Make Up
The USASF appreciates gym owner, coach and event producers to support and participation in creating and implementing this new policy. We all need to start planning for these deadlines. Some of the uniform changes may be costly so now is the time to take a look at these rules and determine how to comply.
As for the makeup, we can overcome not having the rhinestones but I think glitter is here to stay. So to dazzle the judges, let's not overdue it with the glitter eye makeup. Applying glitter over your eyeshadow or shimmer shadows is perfectly acceptable. Add a little sparkle to your performance, make it classy and add glitter as an accent. If glitter is no concern to your competition venue, all the better! Glitz it up!
